I have Hemophilia A and for the first few years of my life having Hemophilia was very hard. I was still learning how to get my factor . The first time I remember a big bleed was when I hurt my shoulder. But the biggest bleed I had was a hip bleed and I had to be in the hospital over Thanksgiving. As much as I was sad to be missing Thanksgiving my family and friends came to visit me. After that my Mom started learning how to give me factor so we could do my infusions at home. As I have gotten older even though I still have bleeds I am not scared of my hemophilia. I will also learn how to infuse myself soon.
As much as hemophilia is hard having so many friends and family supporting me helps. I also know that with my hemophilia it does not keep me from doing things I want and like to do.
Doing the walk is not just fun to do with my friends and family but it also raises money for research for a cure for all kids and people with Hemophilia.
I also walk in honor of my great grandpa Poppy who had hemophilia like me and also my cousin Adam who has hemophilia.
Thank you for supporting me and I hope many of you will walk with me!
Love, Sam
