I’m thrilled to be participating in the 2026 Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk, a fundraiser to support the bleeding disorders community! All money raised stays within our community and funds crucial advocacy, education, research, and support services. I’m passionate about this cause and need your help! Every donation—big or small—helps me reach my fundraising goal and directly impacts this important cause.
CHRIS & JOHNNY'S CREW has been participating in the local Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk for 12 years now. My nephew Johnny and my son Chris are part of the third generation in our family to LIVE with Hemophilia A Severe. It's a genetic bleeding disorder where his blood lacks Factor VIII blood protein (a necessary component of the blood clotting cascade).

We are marveled by the advances in medical treatment. My son Chris used to infuse large thick doses of a bypassing agent every day for about 20 years. Now he uses subcu injection once weekly. My nephew Johny used to require intravenous infusions 2-3 times per week, now he infuses once weekly. These medications have greatly improved Chris' quality of life.

Without access to this medicine and treatment, they would not be able to do the activities they love. Both of our sons attended Hemophilia camp and enjoy playing basketball.

While we are blessed to have access to quality healthcare and medical treatment, thousands of kids and adults affected face joint damage, internal bleeding, inadequate access to treatments and resources.

Christopher has an Inhibitor, his body rejects traditional factor VIII medicine. He's faced many bleeding issues, chronic pain, and many surgeries. He is a living breathing walking testimony. He will share his story if you ask.

My sister Genny is on the board of directors for the Bleeding Disorders Alliance of Illinois and is on her mission to help provide resources and support to our local bleeding disorders community. Every dollar stays within our community and supports critical initiatives such as education, emergency financial support, and resources to ensure families have access to quality healthcare.
