🩸March is Bleeding disorder awareness month!!🩸

Which means it is also time to start the Unite Walk fundraiser for The NHF (National Hemophilia Foundation)!! 

For those who may not know, I have a rare bleeding disorder called Storage Pool Deficiency (SPD). *What is SPD? is a heterogeneous bleeding disorder due to platelet dysfunction and usually related to a decreased number of these specific platelet organelles.*  

An easier explanation -  platelets are a suitcase, full of the chemicals they need to clot. My platelets are missing the chemicals. 

It took years of bleeding issues (since childhood) and specialists to diagnose, especially due to the fact SPD had only been discovered in the last 5 years when I got my diagnosis. NHF's Ohio treatment center, OSU Hematology at The James, was finally my answer. 

The NHF has been so amazing and supportive in this journey, from the very beginning. They've helped guide me through so much, as it is very overwhelming in the beginning.

They help so many people, not just with hemophilia but all bleeding disorders. They offer free education programs, free dinners, free community events, healthcare advocates, help with medications, medical bills and whatever other assistance you may need (Financial or otherwise). They have been a blessing to so many people, myself included. Their support and endless generosity is unbelievable. 

Please join me as I try to giveback and help them to continue blessing and saving so many lives.
