Hemophilia first entered into my life back in 2011 when I began dating my now husband, Brad. Brad was diagnosed as an infant with mild hemophilia A, and has navigated through life managing his bleeding disorder. While Brad is extremely lucky that hemophilia does not affect his everyday life, others with more severe cases of hemophilia experience constant hardship, regular infusions, and costly treatment.

In March, my sister-in-law gave birth to our adorable and smiley nephew, Austin. Just like Brad, Austin was diagnosed with mild hemophilia A. While great medical advances have been made since Brad was a child, Austin will also have to find his way in living with hemophilia. I am grateful that Austin will have the support of our entire loving family, and he will also have his uncle to lean on.

Brad and I have regularly supported the New England Hemophilia Association over the past several years, and 2021 will mark our first time participating in the Unite for Bleeding Disorders walk on Austin's team. Thank you in advance for any donation you are able to make in support of NEHA as 100% of all individual donations raised go directly to NEHA's services and programs.
