We're thrilled to be participating in the 2026 Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk, a fundraiser to support the bleeding disorders community! All money raised stays within our community and funds crucial advocacy, education, research, and support services. 

Hemophilia is a rare genetic bleeding disorder that affects about 1 in 5,000 male births worldwide. In the United States, it's estimated that 33,000 people are living with hemophilia, making it a truly rare condition. Having hemophilia means your blood doesn't clot properly, which can lead to prolonged bleeding, joint damage, and serious complications from even minor surgeries.

While treatment advances have been life-changing, they come at a high cost - on average, the annual cost for treating hemophilia is $300,000. Further, about 1 in 5 people with hemophilia A develop inhibitors, which often render standard treatments ineffective.

This is something we experience personally - Luca has severe hemophilia A with an inhibitor which makes him part of a very small (and very special!) group. We like to say he is rare in more ways than one... :)

Last year, our family participated in our first Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk. With thanks to so many of you, we raised an incredible $7,870 and felt your love and support every step of the way. This year, we are walking again and we humbly ask for your support - whether that means:
