Greetings, My name is Carlon Mcclerkin and I have Hemophilia A severe. At the age of 6 months I would get bruises all over and my parents didn’t understand why. They took me to the doctor to get some test and it came back that I had Hemophilia A severe. From that day forward my family knew things would be a little different. Since the age of 6 I became a competitive swimmer and won several titles. I went on to become a collegiate swimmer at Lindenwood University. My passion for swimming remained after my competition days so I transitioned into coaching. Teaching the younger generation water safety is a big emphasis for me. At 24, I currently body/weight train to stay in shape. I competed in my first physique show last year and won 1st place. If it wasn’t for Hemophilia I wouldn’t be this strong, powerful, young man that I am today. My sister Dymond who is a carrier for Hemophilia A recently gave birth to her son Hardyn Rayford.
From the moment the doctors brought me in to the world with blood running down my cheek, it was clear that I bled different. I'm Hardyn Rayford and I have hemophilia A severe. This disorder will certainly present many challenges for me but the love and care from my parents and family will give me the strength to preserve through any challenge. My uncle Carlon who is an Hemophiliac, will play a huge role in navigating this disorder for me as I age. The community of Hemophiliacs is vast and we are stronger for it, more battle tested. I bleed different but the same God covers me.
Psalm 139:14 I am fearfully and wonderfully made
