Dear friends,
Last year, I told you about my cousin Craig. He had severe hemophilia like me. He was ashamed of having hemophilia and didn’t want to tell his friends. This ultimately resulted in his untimely demise. Our summer camp for children with bleeding disorders teaches kids how to recognize a bleeding event, how to treat it and how to feel comfortable with their condition. Spending a week with others who also have bleeding disorders, including the counselors, gives them the lifelong connections that make a difference.
We also have a family camp where families can learn how to infuse and share tips on managing bleeding disorders. This also leads to long lasting, supportive relationships.
This year we are reaching out to the women in our community with bleeding disorders. They have been ignored for far too long. There are hundreds of undiagnosed women out there with bruising, joint pain and heavy periods that are suffering because “that’s the way it is in our family”. Funding is needed to bring life changing care to these women and girls.
I only ask for money once a year. Please donate to my Walk Team so we can continue to do this work.
Randy
